Franken, Energy Dept. Official Tour U of M Wind Research Station

Sen. Al Franken will be touring the University of Minnesota wind energy research station today.

The station, located at UMore Park in Rosemount, includes a 2.5 megawatt wind turbine and 426-foot meteorological research tower. The purpose of the consortium is to create new educational initiatives and research projects that develop wind power technology.

WEB FORECAST: Light Snowfall Should End Before Evening Commute

A light snowfall will last into the afternoon, but should end before the Friday evening commute.

KSTP.com Meteorologist Patrick Hammer predicts snowfall totals will be light with 1/2" to 1". Areas north of the Twin Cities toward Brainerd may see up to 2".

Driver Leaves Car Wedged Under Rosemount Deck After Crash

A driver crashed their vehicle into a Rosemount home and left the SUV wedged underneath a deck.

According to authorities the crash happened around 1 a.m. Friday on the 13000 block of Crosscliff Place. The crash left significant damage to both the home and the SUV.

The family was inside the home at the time of the crash. Rosemount Police are now looking for the driver.

Find a Precinct Caucus Location Near You

Planning is underway for the Minnesota political party precinct caucuses.

The caucuses are taking place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, for all political parties in Minnesota. This includes Constitution, Democratic-Farmer-Labor, Green, Independence, and Republican parties.

The main purpose of the precinct caucuses is to select candidates for the 2012 election.
